1st Line® is a new way to fight infections in our increasingly antibiotic – resistant world. It is a specially developed supplement that boosts the body’s natural defences through molecules known as thiocyanates ions. 1st Line® is a unique alternative to taking an antibiotic for infections, because it destroys all types of infections, including viruses, without any harmful side effects.
Thiocyanates are naturally produced in the body, and help to fight against unwanted bacteria, viruses, yeasts and fungi – none of which are responsive to antibiotics. Unlike taking an antibiotic for infections, thiocyanates do not attack normal healthy bacteria, and therefore, do not leave the body in a weakened state of immunity for several weeks.
The 1st Line® kit has been developed as a safe and healthy alternative to an antibiotic treatment. It consists of a four part enzymatic kit that provides 25mg of thiocyanates ions in half a litre of water. 1st Line can be used to treat all number of infections, including some of the most common, such as listeria, salmonella, streptococcus, herpes, and candida. It is also an effective staph infection treatment.
Whether you are looking for a way of boosting your body’s natural immunity, seeking a staph infection treatment, or would like a natural alternative to an antibiotic treatment, the 1st Line kit provides a unique way of reducing the everyday threat of infection.
For all too many of us, the natural response when we are unwell is to reach for the antibiotics. This over-use has resulted in the emergence of bacterial strains that are resistant to antibiotics. Such is the scale of the problem, it now appears that a large number of antibiotics have developed their own ‘use by’ dates, after which they are effectively worthless.
1st Line® is a new and unique way of fighting infection, using a naturally occurring molecule called hypothiocyanite – sometimes referred to as thiocyanates. Thiocyanates are manufactured in human saliva, tears, milk and airways. They are the body’s first line of defence, boosting the immune system and destroying all types of infection.
For many people, antibiotics can have unpleasant side effects, such as intestinal problems or yeast infections. This is because antibiotics not only attack ‘unfriendly’ bacteria but also healthy cells, such as those found in the flora of the intestines. Thiocyanates, on the other hand, are only active against unwanted invaders – bacteria, viruses, yeasts and fungi – without harming healthy cells or weakening the body’s immune system. They are, therefore, considered completely safe and unproblematic to use.
Scientists have long recognised the benefits of thiocyanates but past studies have shown that they are inherently unstable with a short life, which means that they have historically been impractical to take in supplement form, because their shelf life is so short. Any solution up to now would have to be consumed immediately, which doesn’t work in the practical reality of everyday life.
The patented 1st Line® kit, produced by British chemist Richard Stead, has been a real breakthrough because the solution is able to remain stable for 12 months at room temperature – a massive leap from previous solutions that wouldn’t last an hour. There are 4 ingredients in the 1st Line® kit which have to be mixed together in water – once mixed, the user has 2 hours in which to drink the preparation.
1st Line® thiocyanate solution is simple to prepare and does not have any noticeable taste.
The 1st Line® kit is effective against a broad range of infections, many of which are not responsive to antibiotics. These include:
1st Line® provides a safe and healthy way for the body to naturally fight infections by boosting the immune system significantly.
Dosing depends on the infection present and the duration it has been present for.
Mild/recent infections
One 25mg dose, repeated the following day if required.
Persistent/current infections
Two (b.i.d) 25mg doses on the first day, repeated the day after. 1st Line® should be taken each morning and evening.
Heavy/persistent (chronic) infections
The individual can take up to 4 (q.i.d) doses per day, then 2 doses each for the next 2 days.
In cases where infections are linked to chronic conditions, we would recommend that regular maintenance dosing with 1st Line continues after the initial infection is under control – weekly or monthly, depending on how often the individual suffers from infections.
It is recommended to avoid food, drink, herbs and supplements both 1-3 hours before and 1-2 hours after using 1st Line®.
Ingestion of iron/Vitamin C (and other nutrients) has been seen to destroy thiocyanate molecules before they can be effective.

Question: Is 1st Line® effective against genital herpetic lesions, if applied topically (onto the skin)?
Answer: We would say that it should be safe to apply 1st Line® as a topical solution to herpes lesions, however we have no direct experience to draw on. If the lesions are open, then there is a greater chance of this having a beneficial effect.
To apply 1st Line® topically, you should use a cotton pad or similar, soaked in the solution then applied and wrapped to hold in place and allow the liquid to soak into the lesions.
Question: What is the pH of 1st Line® thiocyanate solution once mixed?
Answer: Between 7-8 – this will depend on the pH of the water used for the mixture.
Question: I’ve seen suggestions that OSCN can affect the thyroid. Does 1st Line® have this effect?
Answer: The 25mg of OSCNs that are delivered per 1st Line® individual kit have not been known to affect the thyroid, even if used on a daily basis. For OSCN to have an effect on the thyroid, the dosage would have to be a lot greater than 25mg (the articles that refer to this connection are using data from studies that use OSCN in many levels more than 25mg).
That being said, iodine can counteract any thyroid effects from OSCN, so if you are concerned and use 1st Line® on a regular basis, a few drops of iodine should lay this fear to rest.
Question: I suffer with recurrent, persistent UTIs. I’ve had some relief from using different herbs and acupuncture, but I can’t seem to eliminate the UTI entirely. I have adverse reactions to antibiotics so want to avoid these, if possible, could 1st Line® help?
Answer: At the moment we are waiting for the results from a 200-patient trial regarding 1st Line® and its effectiveness with UTIs. Richard Stead, 1st Line® inventor, does say it is good for most infections in soft tissue.
Dosing for this type of infection is educated guesswork at the moment – we know how 1st Line® works, but some infections require a repeat dose, and some don’t. This is in part due to how many pathogens/viruses are present for each ion within the 1st Line® solution to eliminate. Complete coverage is required for complete elimination.
The way that 1st Line® works does mean that even if repeat doses are taken if not needed, they will not destroy intestinal flora and the pathogens in question will not form a resistance in the same way that they may to antibiotics. This is because 1st Line® contains bioidentical thiocyanate ions.
If the antibiotic route is preferred, a good and relatively recent soft tissue drug would be roxithromycin, (also known as Rulid).
Of course cranberries and cranberry juice is also noted in the literature as being of benefit.
1st Line® (OSCN – Oxythiocynate Ions) Testimonials
I drink fresh wheatgrass daily and also own a Kangen Water machine for highly alkalized water, so was disappointed when I started to catch a cold this week. I have had a box of 1st Line since I bought it a couple of months ago…but didn’t know when I would use it. Last night as my head started to feel congested, I decided it was the perfect time to take the 1st Line drink. Went to bed and woke up with NO COLD, no stuffiness, so it worked miracles!!!! Love it!!!! Just ordered 2 more boxes.
