We are all very aware that one of the keys to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and to live longer is to stay fit and active. But how do you maximise the time you commit to your fitness schedule in order to get the best possible outcome? The answer lies in complementing your regular exercise regime with IGF-1.
If you work out regularly and take IGF-1, within just one month of starting a course of IGF-1, you’ll begin to see the build-up of lean muscle mass and a reduction in fat. Body strength and performance will also improve. IGF-1 through its stimulation of growth hormone (GH), also has powerful antiaging and mental well-being properties.
Insulin-like growth factor 1 or IGF-1, also known as Somatomedin C, is a polypeptide hormone that is produced by the liver and other tissues, with effect on growth promoting activity and glucose metabolism (insulin-like activity).
IGF-1 as a stimulator of GH, can be classed as a secretagogue i.e. it is a substance that causes other substances to be secreted.
GH is important because it increases the size and volume of the brain, muscles, skin, hair, bones and internal organs. The volume and tone of our skin, bones and muscles is maintained by GH - a decline in GH accelerates the aging process. Symptoms of this GH decline are sagging and wrinkled skin, muscles and tissues compared with our once smooth tone.
GH is also important as it increases the function, repair and health of our muscles, heart, liver, kidneys, joints, nerves and the brain.
Thirdly, GH has an important role to play in the control of our moods. GH has a significant impact on our emotional and mental state because it stimulates the parasympathic nerves - which contain many mood-calming neurons. This mood-calming effect helps to combat stress, encourages a feeling of inner-peace and as a result improves the overall quality of life. Obvious side-effects are a reduction in feelings of depression, anxiety and nervousness.
GH stimulates growth and cell reproduction allowing the body to repair and rejuvenate itself, therefore playing a major role in normal growth from birth through to adulthood. Indeed, given its crucial role within the body and the fact that its positive effects can be felt throughout the whole of the body, GH is sometimes referred to as the ‘master hormone’.
As with so many hormones, GH levels decline with age. GH levels begin to fall at the fairly dramatic rate of 14% per decade after we reach the age of 30.
The effects of declining GH can be seen in the following table, taken from Thierry Hertoghe’s ‘The Hormone Handbook’(1):

Many of the symptoms detailed above can be reversed by raising our GH levels and returning them to more youthful, healthier levels. Indeed, many now consider raising declining GH levels to be one of the most important steps in anti-aging medicine. Indeed, GH was the first substance to have been clinically proven to reverse the effects of aging.
In July 1990, Dr Daniel Rudman published his ground-breaking research into GH and its effects upon aging(2). Using a cohort of 21 healthy men aged 61-81 years old, over a 6 month period, 12 of the men received subcutaneous HGH injections 3 times a week. No treatment was given to the control group of 9 men. In those patients who received HGH injections, a reversal of the aging process from 10 to 20 years was observed.
Rudman established that there had been an 8.8 percent increase in lean body mass, a 14.4 percent decrease in adipose-tissue mass, a 1.6 percent increase in average lumbar vertebral bone density and a 7.1 percent increase in skin thickness. No such changes had occurred in the control group and the aging process had continued as normal.
The conclusion of the study was that the declining levels of secretion of GH that occur as we age were responsible in part for decreased lean body mass, the expansion of adipose-tissue mass, and the thinning of the skin.
Raising GH levels while maintaining a healthy exercise regime also brings the following benefits:
At International Antiaging Systems we pride ourselves on making sure that we only bring you the very best supplements currently available and IGF-1 is no exception to this rule. We are pleased to be able to offer you genuine IGF-1 which is supplied to you in an injectable form.
The first improvements as a result of increased GH are usually recorded within weeks. Quicker results can be obtained by starting with higher doses of IGF-1. Significant positive changes are normally recorded during the second, third and fourth months, and improvements may continue to be recorded into the second and third years of treatment, even at doses of equal or less than the original. And those people who complement their IGF-1 treatment with other lifestyle and behavioural changes (as documented below), typically exhibit the greatest reversal of the aging process.

IGF-1 stands for ‘insulin like growth factor’ and is also known as Somatomedin C and Macasermin. It represents perhaps the single most potent growth promoting hormone and it is in-effect the final end product of ‘growth hormone’ itself.
IGF-1 is used by injecting it subcutaneously (just under the skin) and clearly its administration and dosing needs to be conducted under the guidance of a health professional.
Dr. Thierry Hertoghe, one of the world’s leading endocrinologists has already been on record as stating that his patients are experiencing numerous age-reversal effects whilst using IGF-1.
We fully appreciate that this is at the same time both a specialised and expensive product; it truly represents the cutting-edge of antiaging medicine today.
Recommended: We suggest one of Dr. Hertoghe’s hormone handbooks if you are considering any form of hormone replacement therapy
Note: Subcutaneous injection packs are available - see injection kits for details.
