Overexposing your skin to the sun can cause long term consequences, even if you don’t burn. The sun can prematurely age the skin; this is called photoaging, which can lead to skin cancer. The UV rays touching the skin can cause the DNA to change on a cellular level. Because photoaging happens on the deeper layers of the skin (the dermis) it can take years for the sun damage to actually become visible.
Photoaging massively accelerates the ageing of the skin and can be identifiable by brown spots, uneven skin texture, wrinkles and broken capillaries.
There is no way to completely reverse photoaging but there are some options that can help rejuvenate the skin. Some surgical and non-surgical approaches to treating photoaging include dermabrasion, chemical peeling, a face lift, collagen injections, laser resurfacing, and of course natural dietary supplements and skincare.
