A veterinarian is an individual who is qualified to treat illnesses and injuries that pets an animals may endure. Veterinarians may be required to perform surgery, use ultrasound and x-ray machinery on pets and animals.
Veterinarians give medicine and perform procedures on animals in the same way that doctors give medicines and perform procedures on humans. In fact, many of the same medicines and supplements are used by both animals and humans but at different dosages.
