Hepatitis is the name for inflammation of the liver. When in a normal state, the liver is responsible for many key functions of good health including fighting infections, filtering the blood of toxins, and processing nutrients. When inflamed or damaged, it does not function correctly and so Hepatitis sufferers may experience symptoms such as jaundice, tummy pain, fever, overall muscle pain, nausea, vomiting and being tired/unwell.
There are 2 types of Hepatitis virus, A and B. A is typically caught by eating affected food and drink, and B is spread by blood/sexual contact with an infected person. B is more common.
