Symprove® Mango & Passion Fruit Flavor

Probiotic food supplement developed to aid the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Symprove® is a liquid food supplement containing 4 unique strains of probiotic bacteria:

  • rhamnosus
  • faecium
  • acidophilus
  • plantarum

These “good” bacteria are live and activated when they arrive, and as Symprove® is water-based, it does not triggers the body to start the digestion process – in this way, the probiotics survive in the stomach.

Taking Symprove® on a daily basis has been shown to help IBS sufferers ease their symptoms including bloat, reflux, chronic fatigue and headaches. Mango and Passion Fruit is a flavor variant that has been well received by Symprove® users who love a sweeter option.

Product Description

Symprove® Mango & Passion Fruit – helping your gut remain happy and healthy

Many people live with undiagnosed Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or stomach pains. Whilst there are many remedies and supplements that can help, such as yogurt or peppermint oil, these are typically only suitable on a case-by-case basis, and not helpful for anyone who may have intolerances to food groups like dairy. Don’t despair – Symprove® can help!

Symprove® has been developed to pass three key criteria in delivering live, activated probiotic bacteria into the stomach. Because it is water based, it enables a direct route to the stomach without triggering any digestive processes; as such, it passes the three trials for efficacy in delivering 100% of advertised bacteria. These are:

  • Whether the number of live bacteria matched the producer’s claims.
  • How many viable bacteria made it to the gut?
  • How successful those bacteria were in establishing a successful culture?

The 4 strains of probiotic bacteria contained within the Symprove® solution all showed strong culture growth within 10 hours after surviving the 120-minute journey through the stomach.

Symprove® Studies

Studies and research conducted at King’s College Hospital in London, UK, have shown that Symprove® improved the symptoms of all confirmed IBS sufferers (moderate or severe) who had failed to respond to conventional treatments such as dietary changes or medications like laxatives or muscle relaxants.

Studies have also taken place on the efficacy of Symprove® in the treatment of patients with asymptomatic ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. This showed that those given Symprove® was associated with decreased intestinal inflammation in patients with UC, but not in CD, however it was well tolerated by all.

Why take Symprove® over other Probiotics?

Good Bacteria Delivery

Symprove® has a particularly potent delivery system; being water based, this ensures the bacteria contained within are not destroyed in the stomach during the digestive process. In comparison, most traditional probiotics tend to come in tablets and capsules or as a dairy drink or yoghurt, which is not as efficient in terms of delivery. This is because the proteins and fats contained in dairy formulations trigger digestion, also meaning that fewer viable bacteria reach where they’re needed most.

Activation of Bacteria

Symprove® contains multi-strain live bacterial cultures which do not need to be rehydrated before they can grow; this is unlike other tablets and capsules which contain freeze-dried bacteria that fail to reactivate upon taking the supplement.

Easy to Use

Each pack of Symprove® contains 4x 500ml bottles; this is enough for 4 weeks worth of use. It is recommended that you take Symprove® for a minimum of 4 weeks, but if you are suffering from moderate to severe IBS go for at least a 12 week course.

Note, since Symprove is a live probiotic it has a shelf life of approximately 3 months (although this can be extended to 5 months if kept in a fridge).

Further Information

What is irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)?

Irritable bowel syndrome, otherwise known as IBS, is what’s known as “functional” gastrointestinal disorder. It is hard to diagnose and typically not through “normal” structural and biochemical tests. As it stands, there is no actual “IBS test”, but medical practitioners can arrange for tests to rule out other conditions like coeliac disease. It can be hard to get a symptom management plan in place until a diagnosis is made.

IBS has a diagnosis rate of up to 15% in America alone – it is estimated that IBS is responsible for between 2.4 and 3.5 million trips to the doctor’s each year, up to 12% of visits to primary care givers, and nearly $21 billion in absenteeism and lost productivity.

IBS Symptoms

IBS symptoms vary from person to person and a lot of the time they put down to something else, as the most common symptom is generalised abdominal pain and discomfort which can be caused by many things. Diarrhea or constipation, and other changes in bowel habits are common also. Potentially connected conditions include:

  • A feeling of incomplete bowel movement
  • Bloating and abdominal distension
  • Reflux
  • Headache
  • Backache
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Reduced libido

How do probiotics help IBS sufferers?

There is a great deal of evidence to indicate that probiotics can be highly effective in the treatment of IBS, although there are ongoing trials and studies to further produce evidence of this. We know that probiotics help by:

  • strengthening intestinal mucus barriers
  • reducing harmful bacteria levels
  • reducing harmful bacteria spread
  • regulating the immune system
  • countering stress on gut immunity and function.
