Manerix - also known as Moclamine is a novel anti-depressant that has a unique group of actions. It works by blocking an enzyme called Mono Amine Oxidase (MAO), in fact it uniquely blocks MAO-A.
MAO is known to break down brain chemicals called neurotransmitters. This means that more availability of brain messengers is made, and depression can therefore be treated effectively.
