 GABOB

Gabob – Alternative Epilepsy Treatment

Aminohydroxybutyric acid or Buxamin, also known as Gabob is related to GABA and GHB. Discussed in the medical literature since the 1960s, it has been used to treat anxiety, stress and epilepsy.

A number of animal and human studies show its efficacy, particularly for treating epilepsy. One such study used Gabob acid as an addition to existing therapy in adult patients suffering severe focal epilepsy. Another study determined that an oral dose of 250 mg twice daily for 26 weeks reduced the total number of seizures by half, compared with the controls, and no serious side effects were experienced.

Since the 1980s, it has been known that Gabob can increase growth hormone levels. A research study of women discovered that hGH levels rose significantly when given 100mg of Gabob over a 20 minute period. These results corroborated earlier research that suggested Gabob stimulated both human growth hormone and prolactin levels in normal women.

Similarly, men who were injected with Gabob, showed significant improvements in their levels of human growth hormone, prolactin and cortisol, when injected with 300mg.

These research statistics are significant as they suggest that the stimulatory effects of Gabob are very similar to that of GHB (commonly known as a date rape drug). However, although the injectable versions have caused unconsciousness at dosages over 150mg, it does not have the same effect when taken orally. It is, therefore, the closest, legal alternative to GHB, as it shares many of its properties.

At what are considered normal doses, there do not appear to be any side effects. At high doses though, some slight drowsiness may occur, so it is vital to exercise caution when taking it, (i.e. not driving or operating machinery).
