What are Manerix ® tablets?
These tablets contain the active ingredient moclobemide. The pale-yellow tablet contains 150mg moclobemide. The white tablet contains 300mg moclobemide.

Manerix ® is a medicine used to treat depression.

When must Manerix ® not be used?

• If you are allergic to the medicine.
• In children.
• If you are taking, or have recently stopped taking any other medicines, including painkillers bought from your pharmacy and other medicines for your depression then please tell your doctor before taking Manerix ®.
• If you have a tumor of the adrenal glands (your doctor might have called this "phaeochromocytoma ")

When should you be extra careful while taking Manerix ®?

Make sure your doctor knows if:

• You are taking any other medicines, including ones bought from your pharmacy for coughs and colds.
• You are feeling very unwell in an unusual way.
• You suffer from any other psychiatric illness. - You have thyroid trouble.
• You have a liver disorder.

No special dietary restrictions are necessary when taking these tablets. As some patients may be especially sensitive to tyramine you are advised to avoid eating large amounts of food known to contain this substance. Examples of such foods are mature cheese, yeast extracts and fermented soya bean products (contained in some Chinese-foods). Your doctor may therefore wish to discuss your diet with you.
May Manerix ® be used during pregnancy or while breast-feeding?
Normally pregnant women should not take these tablets. It is important to tell your doctor if you are pregnant or think you could be pregnant, as he may decide that you should not use this medicine. - If you are taking these tablets, you should not breast-feed. . How should Manerix ® be taken?
Your doctor will decide on the correct dose necessary to treat your depression. This will normally be between two and four tablets a day. The tablets should always be taken after meals with a drink of water.

• If you take too many tablets by mistake or someone else accidentally takes your medicine, contact your doctor, pharmacist or nearest hospital straight away.
