Levitra is Bayer Pharmaceuticals answer to Pfizer's Viagra®. Levitra contains Vardenafil, a chemical which inhibits an enzyme known as Phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE5). This enzyme occurs naturally in erectile tissue and can break down cyclic GMP, which is the substance produced during sexual arousal that causes the vascular and muscular changes that eventual lead to an erection.

Therefore, men who produce too little cyclic GMP or too much PDE5 have problems obtaining and maintaining an erection. By reducing PDE5 levels, Levitra overcome this problem, enabling men to have speedy, enduring erections.

Dosage:
Take 10mg (maximum 20mg) up to one hour before sexual intercourse.

Side effects:

Caution:
Levitra is contraindicated with organic nitrates. These are drugs that are often used to treat heart conditions such as hypotensive conditions, (low blood pressure).
