How CardioCheck works:

CardioCheck is a painless, non invasive procedure. An infrared sensor is simply clipped to the patient’s finger and infrared light is passed through it. CardioCheck automatically scans, collects and analyses the data from the sensor and from the amassed information can determine the stiffness of a patient’s artery. It is able to do this by ascertaining the patients BMI (obtained by placing data such as patient’s height, sex, race, weight and age into the machine beforehand) as well as their heart rate, blood speed (hence viscosity) and finally the arterial stiffness index.

Furthermore, CardioCheck holds 2000 patients data obtained by previous examinations. So once the patient’s data is obtained and displayed, CardioCheck will ascertain the age of patient’s arteries, in other words even if you are not a medical professional CardioCheck produces a vascular age- thus very simply that figure can be compared to your own age, to see how you compare to your counterparts. You may only be 40 but if your arterial health is that of an average 70 year old due to premature or arterial stiffness then you can take action to improve the situation and avoid a catastrophe.
